Tonight on the Kiner Hour – Let’s Talk Dance with Ashani Mfuko internet radio show, two heavy hitters in the world of Hip-Hop dance, Gabriel “Kwikstep” Dionisio, and Kevin “Shocka Lock” Porter!
Kevin (Shock-a-lock) Porter is an original locker who was instrumental in sparking the locking dance in New York City in the 70s. Shock-a-Lock is founder of the performance group, “Lockism: The World’s First Mimelockers”. He continues to hold his own at the forefront of the urban dance scene, staying true to the tradition while presenting highly innovative material with a crew of remarkable dancers. He also provides mentoring and corporate presentations to a number of artists, entrepreneurs, and organizations.
Hip-Hop Dancer, Choreographer, and Artistic Director, Gabriel “KWIKSTEP” Dionisio has taught an influential Hip-Hop technique class at the Broadway Dance Center, and has won a Bessie award for choreography. Kwikstep is the co-founder of Full Circle Productions, a non profit internationally-acclaimed, Hip-Hop dance theater company. He is an international icon in breaking, and is best known for his smooth style, versatility and signature head spins.
