Celebrating National Dance Day through Social Media for Dance Studios

So You Think You Can Dance Photo

Today is Day 69 in the 90-Day Social Media Success Challenge for Dance Studios, and also National Dance Day in the U.S.!

NATIONAL DANCE DAY is a grassroots initiative that encourages the nation, young and old, to move!  Individuals, families, organizations and communities from across the nation come together through their creative expression in dance.  Any style of dance is welcome and imagination is recommended in order to get the most out of this celebratory day.

This event was created to continue to generate national awareness for dance, a medium of expression and storytelling which, through shows like So You Think You Can Dance, has proven its value in bringing individuals from all walks of life together through a positive platform that has no boundaries and cultivates imagination and passion. Most importantly, the day is intended to promote health and wellness nationwide.

There’s been lots of excitement and discussions on Facebook and Twitter about all of the different ways dancers, dance studios, and dance teachers are celebrating this wonderful day, and I’d love to hear how you’re celebrating National Dance Day. Please leave a comment below and share.

You can also check out the event on Facebook, and see what dancers all over the country are doing to celebrate!

I will, ironically, be spending the day dancing on the set of a new movie, filming here in NYC, starring Justin Timberlake, called, “Friends With Benefits”. It should be lots of fun! I’ll be sure to share how it’s going with you on Facebook and Twitter.  So look out for my updates.
