Check out their social media success story…

1) What type of marketing/promotion did you do for your dance studio before getting involved in social media?

The first type of marketing I used and still use and consider it the strongest way to advertise any sort of business is simply “WORD OF MOUTH”. Mothers and students always feel more comfortable when someone they know has great things to say about our business. It automatically takes away any worries about leaving your child with another grown up for an hour. My goal is to always make every mother feel at ease. I like to always tell each and every Mother as they register for my school “that there child will be safe and sound with us”, “I promise to teach their child and every child as if they were my own daughter”, And I always make the ultimate promise that “their child will grow leaps and bounds being around positive adults, positive comments, and children who are taught to respect one another.”

2) What social media outlets are you currently using to promote your dance studio? (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc.)

I use all of those, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and some other ones such as Linkedin, Hot Frog, and other dance sites.

3) What’s been the biggest change at your dance studio since getting involved in social media marketing?

My studio’s popularity. All the local children in all the surrounding towns know my studio, the teachers, and what we are all about.

4) Why do you think social media is a great way to promote and market your dance studio?

For me, it’s been a way to get the name of Miss Colleen’s Elite Dancentre, our professionalism, staff’s talents, and students’ talents out in the public eye. It is also a great way to market all the master classes that take place at the studio.

5) Did you originally have doubts about getting involved in social media for your dance studio? Why? How did you overcome that initial hesitation?

Of course I did. But luckily for me I have 3 younger brothers one being 18 years of age who explained how it all worked and the benefits. The unknown is always a scary thing.

I’d like to thank Colleen for sharing her story with us. I think that her last comment really says it all. “The unknown is always a scary thing”. If you want your dance studio to continue to flourish in this new economy and marketplace, you must overcome the fear of the unknown, so that your dance studio can have a social media success story too!
