How To Get A Custom Facebook Landing Page for Free

Day 64 in the 90-Day Social Media Success Challenge for Dance Studios

In case you haven’t heard, custom landing pages are one of the hottest trends for businesses on Facebook, and I believe it’s a trend that’s here to stay. Custom landing pages are a great way to grab your audience’s attention, and give people more of a reason to “Like” your fan page, based on what you have to offer on this custom landing page. There are many individuals and companies that can create a custom landing page for your Facebook fan page, since you need to have knowledge of fbml to create one. This comes at a fee of course.

Videos on this custom landing page have become a standard. But, if you don’t have the know-how of Fbml to create a custom landing page of your own, and don’t want to spend the money to have someone else create one for you, I have a little secret for you, that will provide you with a custom landing page for free!

Today I will teach you how to add a YouTube tab to your dance studio’s Facebook Fan page, then customize your settings to have that tab become your landing page. That way, when new people (non-fans), go to your fan page, your video will be the first thing that they see, along with a link to your actual YouTube page. It’s a great way to create an incentive to click on the “Like” button, and get people even more interested in staying up-to-date with what’s going on with your dance studio or business. So, here’s how you do it.

First, you must obviously have a YouTube account. If you don’t have one, create one now, then proceed.

Go to Involver.com

Click on Application Suite.

Go to the YouTube Channel box, and click on the Facebook icon that says, Install.

Facebook will open up in a new window on your computer, and you will see the page below.

Click on the blue arrow, and highlight your fan page.

On the next page that opens, click on Add YouTube for Pages.

On the next page that opens, you will need to fill out your information. Name, e-mail address, agree to their terms and conditions, your YouTube username, and choose your settings.

Once you’ve filled out this information, click on, Save and Continue.

This application is now added to your fan page. Follow the prompts that come up on the next page to add the tab to your Facebook page.

Follow the following steps to make this page your landing page:

Go to your Facebook fan page.

Click on, Edit page.

Scroll down to find the YouTube for Pages box. Click on Edit.

It will take you to the application settings.

Click on the box/arrow next to the Featured Video option, and choose which of your YouTube videos you’d like to be featured on this page.

Click on Save and Continue.

Go back to the Edit page for your fan page.

Click on Wall settings.

Here you can choose what page new viewers/non-fans will land on when they go to your fan page for the first time.

Choose YouTube, from the options listed there.

Click on Save.

You are Done!!

Now people will land on this YouTube tab/page when they visit your fan page for the first time. So you’ve now essentially created a custom landing page for your fan page without knowing FBML,or paying someone to create it for you. Yay!
