Discover the vibrant world of Jamaican music and dance with this master workshop course. The course content is with an emphasis on the traditions and emphasis on the latest developments in Jamaica dance and music . This direct workshop experiences will give participants the interpretation on a significant and historical dance culture.
Dancers of intermediate to advanced levels will be treated to classes of Reggae/Dancehall and the latest Jamaican street dances. Faculty are from the best performing groups in Jamaica as well as apart of Dancerzblvd the dance foundation of Jamaica.
The aim of DANCE…HALL MASTERZ is to promote the authenticity and uniqueness of Jamaica’s dance culture. DANCE…HALL MASTER Z is to foster a new awareness of Jamaica’s dance culture, language, styles, and music. An important element in introducing reggae/dancehall dance.

Much of being a successful Dancehall Master is about having authentic style and character broadly defined. Since, in theory “everyone can dance, but not everyone is a dancer“. Dancers must adhere to a set of dancehall principles and combine it to their own style .

Ultimately DANCE…HALL MASTERZ is to create a better understanding and interpretation of the roots and foundation of the dancehall performing arts. Lectures by the Jamaica’s Dance masterz, Donna Ray and Black Blingaz.
TO WHOM IT’S RECOMMENDED
The National Reggae/Dancehall Dance Workshop Dance Addict 2009 is mainly focused to Professional/non-professional dancers and other artists that are interested in the movement as a way of expression. It is also dedicated to those who desire to complement their formation, renewing and recycling knowledge about a concrete dance culture from the place we call Jamaica, though this workshop proposes a dialogue between different artistic universe that has in common the exchange of experiences and information.
This peculiarity workshop helps in the cultural appreciation of some aspects of that artistic discipline in a very special way. Moreover, we want to help to decentralize from the inner cities to specialized formation and education of the dancehall performing arts at a professional level. Ultimately we want to shorten the distance between public and performers, to finally create a better understanding and familiarity of the art.

Workshop Goal is to combine the practice of dance and culture, the knowledge of it and the physical/mental training with the opportunity of sharing classes with other professionals and students of other nationalities and cultures.
The task is to find a common field or background and coalesce them together in an artistic manner without losing the uniqueness of each of the culture.

Moreover, we also believe in the positive aspect of importing and sharing all that information with the local artists and the public in general. The roots are always strong, and as young active citizens we need the support and the understanding of this proposal for cultural progress to obtain a good success.
